Lets start with the good:
The island really is postcard perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better house reef. The snorkeling is an out of this world experience. Rooms were nicely appointed and the public spaces were well decorated.
We stayed part of the trip in a Water Villa and part in the Pool Villa. I am probably in the minority in that I enjoyed the Pool Villa more than the Water Villa. Snorkeling outside your water villa is amazing but it doesn't make up for the crappy air conditioning and slower wifi. It gets hot and stays hot in the water villa. I like having a outdoor shower and a freshwater pool after a day in the ocean.
Every staff member that we encountered was friendly and very willing to help. However there were a substantial number of service issues.
Now to the bad parts:
We had the unfortunate luck to be at the property during renovation of the second restaurant. The food itself was not bad, but once you factor in the price it just not acceptable. We had to look at the same menu 7 days in a row. I don't know about you but I don't even eat at home 7 days in a row. How many days does the resort expect someone to eat a $40 burger or $38 noodles?
Arriving at Male airport from the Park Hyatt was a bit of a disappointment. All the tourist on our flight from other resorts had staff assisting them to the international terminal, while we were left fending for ourselves. I was envious that these smaller resort companies were going the extra mile to enhance their service, but the Park Hyatt failed to do so.
Though I am giving our stay 4 stars, this isn't a true 5 star luxury property worthy of the Park Hyatt brand.
Thank you for the best vacationI stayed in this place for one week from August 12 to 18th. It took approximately one day and half day by one way from Japan, but there was right paradise...I stayed in this place for one week from August 12 to 18th.Read full review
It took approximately one day and half day by one way from Japan, but there was right paradise.
At first about hospitality.
There was a trouble (there was engine trouble on the boat which departed from an airport, and departure was late) at the time of departure, but the correspondence of the hotel side for it was quick and faithful.
During a stay, all staff did a comfortable reception.
The room reserved the water cottage. It is thanks at the hotel which prepared a very splendid room. We can overlook the sea from the room, listening to the sound of the waves while sleeping on the sofa in the deck, watching the sun set. It is the water cottage which there is much in Maldives, but there will not be the place that was endowed with beautiful coral to here. A shark (not in danger) swim
s in the under the eaves leisurely,I was able to watcha flock ofdolphinsina slightly remote place from the room from the room , too(lucky !)
The hot water will come out firmly shower, good size as well as about 100 square meters in size.
It was very good things are cozy.
In addition, there is also a small ant filled the room.
If you are concerned about these things, better to be consulted in advance is good.
It is an activity, but is the best place to enjoy snorkeling.
The coral of the house leaf is really splendid!
The spots from water villa to a pier are the particularly best.
I want you to enjoy Night - snorkeling absolutely once.
I want to thank Marianne of the staff heartily.
What was also very comfortable spa (Balinese style).
Prices also, which is very reasonable considering that these five-star resort.
This is one of the services received rather good world.
Come and not only women, but also men.
The visitors from more Japan will increase in future if the staff who can speak Japanese is resident .
Finally I want to thank HEMANT and SHIFAZ heartily.
Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, the resort was worth even go over time.
We will also come back here in the near future.

One detail we truly loved were the noise cancellation headphones they give you on the boat from the airport to the resort (and back) along with an Ipod filled with nice music. Now that is attention to detail.. Hats off!
My only negative review is the price you have to pay food. The hotel arranged a fixed menu for us at times - Dont get me wrong the food was good, but there were items on the menu that my partner had an aversion of. Then we were charged around 160usd each .. Now I do understand the logistic difficulties. Yes we are miles away from everything, yes it is expensive to ship supplies... But seriously? 160usd per person for dinner? Same amount of money you would pay in say, NOBU or ZUMA? Ouch!

Other reviewers have...My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon, and our final stop at the Park Hyatt was the perfect end to what was an unbelievable trip. Other reviewers have already spoken at length about the offerings of this resort - the special location, the pristine beaches, the beautiful underwater scenery, the activities and amenities - so I won't focus so much on these items (although they were all of extremely high quality). Instead, I'd like to say a few words about what made my wife and I determined to come back and visit again sometime very soon: the service of a very dedicated staff.Read full review
I can't stress enough how willing every member of the staff was to work with us to customize our experience and make sure we were having the best time possible. Don't be fooled by the fact that many of them are young (mid-20s) and exceedingly polite. We found that simply striking up conversations with many of them ignited their natural curiosities and desires to come up with creative ways to help us. A few examples in particular come to mind:
1) On one of our first evenings during dinner, my wife and I asked the waiter if one of the dishes could be prepared a little spicy. The chef at the restaurant (Chef Justin) came to personally ask us exactly what we wanted, and specifically if there was something else off-menu he could prepare that would be suitable. The dinner was fantastic, and during our conversation, it came up that my wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon. The next day, when we arrived for dinner, we were informed that the chef and the staff had prepared a special dinner for us....which also included their setting up a private gazebo overlooking the beach for us, separate from the rest of the diners. It turns out that Chef Justin had taken mental notes during our previous conversation about types of food we enjoy, and had made a 3-course indian meal that included the finest fish curry we had every experienced. We were floored to say the least. The whole evening was topped off by the service of a fine waiter, Mnaz, who was very personable, but also allowed my wife and I the privacy to savor the intimate setting they had created.
2) I had acquired a rather nasty sunburn towards the end of our trip (mainly because of my own carelessness with applying sunscreen). I went to the spa looking to see if perhaps they had some lotion or aloe I could use, and the woman who was working at the time, Disha, said that she would look into it. A little later that afternoon, I found in my room an entire 2-step skin treatment she had assembled, which included 2 different "cooling" balms, along with detailed instructions on how to apply them. And when I saw her the next day, Disha apologized (!) for not being able to do more to help.
3) My wife and I decided to go snorkeling, despite her fears of swimming in open water. It became clear very quickly into our excursion, that my wife was not entirely comfortable and had difficulty keeping up my me and our guide, Inah. It was at this point that Inah simply took her hand and personally escorted her up and down the reef for the entire hour, which made a huge difference in making her comfortable and allowing her to actually enjoy the beautiful underwater scenery. Inah's enthusiasm for what he does is very clear, and in fact, I followed up with him later in the week for an evening of night snorkeling.
These are 3 examples that I could think of just off the top of my head.....I could go on and on with others. We found little treasures like these from virtually every staff member we spoke to. It only took a little initiative and pro-activeness on our part to help them understand exactly what we wanted. Looking around, I didn't see many of the other hotel guests doing the same thing, which is a shame.
The general manager of the Hyatt, Pierre, had does an outstanding job in assembling a world-class staff for their customers. I do a fair bit of traveling for work, and while I have stayed at many top-level hotels, this was undoubtedly the finest experience I have had to date. My wife and I cannot express our gratitude enough for making our honeymoon absolutely unforgettable.

Snorkeling...We stayed at the Park Hyatt Hadahaa over NYE 2012 for around 7 days in a park pool villa. The villa was amazing as were the whole set up. Snorkeling and scuba diving was out of this world. The only downside was the food. Breakfast was good but all the dinners we had were disappointments. Especially the mandatory NYE dinner, which was like 500 USD per person. We would have expected a better quality for that amount of money. We spent the next week at Sheraton Full Moon resort and I must say that the food there was waaay better than at the Hyatt. However, all in all a very enjoyable holiday and would recommend it to any divers out there.Read full review
