The speedboat ride from Male to the resort was fantastic.....however Im glad we had to wear life jackets as he went very fast!! We stopped in a deluxe room seconds away from the beach. The room was kept spotless and our room boy made us elephants and Manta rays out of towels. The sea was so blue and clear that my husband spent ages just watching the fish and the baby sharks which swim only inches past him. In the evening we walked to the end of the jetty to watch the Manta Rays feed. it was so beautiful. The resort staff were amazing, so polite and helpful especially Azim our favourite waiter. He looked after us very well. The food was amazing, in 2 weeks we never had anything duplicated.....have come home now to try and lose weight!! We snorkelled daily which was amazing but the best bit for me was the dolphin safari!! 1000's of dolphins out in the Indian Ocean swimming alongside the boats!! It was very emotional!! The resort itself excelled what the brochure had to say about it....and the brochure photos did not do it justice!! We are definately going to visit again....hopefully in 2014 for our 10th wedding anniversary. The only downside we had was booking with Thomson they cancelled the direct flights so we had to fly from Manchester to Dubai to Male and the same on the return flight. It made the journey lengthy as a lot of time was spent waiting around in Dubai airport!! If you are looking at the closest thing to paradise for a holiday then pay Olhuveli a visit.......it won't disappoint!!Read full review

To sum Olhuveli in one word WOW it's the most amazing place we have ever been to and it felt like paradise when we arrived our room boy had decorated our bed with petals and put the word honeymoon on the bed he was so sweet every night he turned the bed down with the sheets in a pattern. Also I dropped some money under the furniture and he returned it to me so honest of him I wouldn't have known . The food was excellent and our waiter Ibrahim Wajeeh was the most friendliest and helpful person ever always a smile and a nice chat remembered what drinks we liked and made sure we were always happy . We went on a catamaran for the afternoon snorkelling to different reefs this was amazing and a trip we will never forget . All the staff from reception to beach cleaners were friendly and helpful all in all a credit to this amazing island we hope to return for our 5 th wedding anniversary and know it will still be amazing . Thanks to all at Olhuveli even though my review is a little late x

Our room was beautiful , we stayed in room 212 , it was a deluxe room and was a 2 second walk to the sea . one side of the island was the sea a little rougher but great for snorkelling .On the other side was the most beautiful calm water . We bought our own floating devices and had so much fun . The food was really great and the choice was amazing be prepared to eat too much as everything is so good . You will have one waiter assigned to you for your stay , we tipped him 5 dollars every nightRead full review
We went on a dolphin tour was amazinggggggggg
I had a massage and facial that was out of this world
The cocktails were fun and fresh and not too expensive if you are use to London prices
My only complaint is that it is not lit very well so at night it's a bit hard to walk the sun set as it gets dark quickly
Also the wifi is not free and a bit expensive for 24 hours
But over all loved it a beautiful island enjoy if you go
Ps I think BA are the only airline to fly direct

We have travelled to many places around the world but this was our best ever holiday, the resort iteself is stunning powdery white sands and clear blue seas teeming with different creatures from sting rays, turtles, so many different types of fish, eagle rays and the gorgeous black tipped sharks, we feel very privelidged to have swam in the sea with these creatures. The staff here are truly wonderfull we cant mention them all but sean shar and seymour were our favourites they could not do enough for us. The food was amazing we had a complimentary meal at the 4 spices it was superb and made our comments to the chef personally which he felt honoured of our comments on his food. The rooms are lovely very clean if I was to nit pick it would be the very hard beds but we asked for a matress topper and one was put on immediately. I could go on and on about this place and feel so miserable to be home and will definately be back, even though we always say we will never go anywhere twice. Feel free to ask questions about this place. My advice is dont think about it just goRead full review

We had a deluxe beach villa which had been refurbished, it was very close to all the amenities and so was perfect for us, we had thought before the trip about upgrading whilst there but we were so pleased with our room that we did not bother. The food was excellent, something to eat for even the fussiest of people ( yes that's me!!! ), a great thing for me was that all the bread was baked fresh everyday as were all the pastries.
The amount of Internationally branded drinks on offer for those of us who went All Inclusive was a really nice surprise and we certainly took advantage of the odd Captain Morgans or two!!!!!
The island is stunning with beautiful and well maintained trees everywhere, and the white sand is something to behold. Seeing the fruit bats hanging from the trees and hearing them squabble as they often did and seeing them flying around the island was like being in Jurassic Park!!! But what made this island was the huge lagoon that surrounded it, the colours and how they constantly changed throughout the days have to be seen to be believed. We wondered before we went if the water really is that blue and if anything it is more incredible in real life, truly stunning.
The snorkelling was fantastic, the best place being off the end of the jetty next to the Dive Centre, one day I swam with a spotted eagle ray, an octopus, 3 sharks ( not as frightening as I thought ) and thousands of beautiful reef fish. My wife and I also saw Manta Rays, Stingrays, Cuttlefish, and 2 Turtles and that was just off the jetty, the clarity of the water was amazing. The warmth of the staff was a real bonus for us to the extent that they actually made our holiday. We feel that we made some good friends, they are such lovely people. A big hello to Inoka, Angeli, and Yasir, we miss you already.
The friendliness and professionalism of all the staff is a credit to them.
We had a fantastic holiday and we have many great memories, sitting outside the Lagoon Bar with a beer watching the incredible sunsets being just one of them.
If you are thinking of going to Olhuveli then do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed.
A truly relaxing and unforgettable holiday of a lifetime
